Welcome to The Federal Programs Department

The Selma City Schools Federal Programs Office is headed by Dr. Zanetta Simmons-Ervin.

We are proud to announce that ALL of our schools are now Title I Schools!! 

The major responsibilities of the Federal Programs Office is to administer all federally funded education programs and to provide technical assistance to  schools.

These responsibilities include:

  • promoting, supervising, and coordinating district wide educational programs with federal programs
  • assisting schools in developing, revising, and implementing their school wide plans
  • reviewing Federal programs in schools to insure compliance with the Alabama's consolidated monitoring process

    It is our intent to provide you with pertinent information to the community and the students and parents that we serve to assist in making the learning experience here in Selma successful.

    Copies of attestations are available for review by the general public in each schools Principal's office and in the Board of Education's Federal Programs Office.

    Private school officials have the right to complain to the State Department of Education, 5348 Gordon Persons Building, 50 N. Ripley Street, PO Box 302191, Montgomery, AL 36130, (Edmund Moore, 334-242-8199) if the local educational agency did not engage in consultation that was meaningful and timely, or did not give due consideration to the views of the private school official..
