Selma City Schools provides a school health services program that promote optimal health and learning for all students.  Health services consist of health assessment and care, emergency care, communicable disease prevention and control, health screenings, health literacy, and health promotion for all students.  All health education programs provided are age and grade level appropriate.  Individual Health Care Plans and/or Emergency Action Plans are developed for all students with chronic health care conditions.

One or more Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are assigned to each school located in one of the school health areas (SHAs).  Nurses are assigned to either the triage room or classroom with special medical needs students.  Our system benefit daily from the dedication of the school nurses (2 RNs and 7 LPNs) who serve our school system.  Health Services operates under the guidance of Ms. Marchina Harrell, Health Service Coordinator.
